Certificate in Shamanism & Transformational Mask

Participants of Shamanism and Transformational Mask will develop the ability to:

  • connect with deeper aspects of self, spirit, nature & community
  • embody one’s medicine to live powerfully in the world
  • explore practical tools to facilitate personal healing & well-being
  • draw upon shamanic practice & traditional healing systems
  • experience ritual and ceremony
  • explore dreams as a source of wisdom & healing
  • create sacred art and craft

This course is designed for anyone wishing to develop a greater sense of connection to themselves, the land, spirit and their communities. It is also suitable for anyone wishing to heal their life as well as those already working in the field including counsellors, therapists, complementary health practitioners, community workers, educators, and social activists.

This course introduces shamanic practice relevant to contemporary living and covers the shamanic practices of journeying into altered states of consciousness, navigational maps, sacred art, divination, ritual, dream wisdom, chakra healing, trance dance, transformational mask work, deep connection and listening to nature. These practices are transformational, and bring a sense of belonging and purpose and healing. They develop one’s gifts and talents, alongside building the skills/resources to take this work out further to your family and community.

The course is a journey to rediscover, reconnect with and remember our authentic being and our place on this Earth in respect and awareness and to move from that place in the scheme of things.

Traditionally Indigenous cultures have lived a life connected to and informed by the Land

– Earth my teacher. They have seen the land as the primary source of the story and lived in respect and harmony. How do we embody?

The power of masks to change people’s life is well-known throughout the world. Masks enable the wearer to explore new qualities of their being and shed aspects that constrict their life. Through experiencing other states in the mask, we live in the world more vibrantly.

Course Delivery

The course comprises five residential modules of  three-day duration.

After modules 1 -4 there is a Zoom session for  integrating  and discussing  the

work. Each module is approximately 4 – 6 weeks apart.

Group sizes are small, 6 – 8 to enable each person to be deeply held in their journey.

Accreditation/Ongoing Professional Development

The Certificate of Shamanism and Transformational Mask is the first part of the Diploma of Mask and Traditional Healing and is an approved training with the International Institute for Complementary Therapists IICT. Professional Indemnity and Public Liability are available through BMS Risk Solutions Pty Ltd (BMS).

Many professional associations approve the hours from the course for professional development.
